He says: “People used to believe that our better days were ahead of us as a nation, but I think that our better days are behind us. That’s sad, and that’s all the fault of these gangs. They’re the ones that are responsible.”
He: multi-millionaire, former wrestling star and former governor of Minnesota, Jesse “The Mind” Ventura.
The gangs he’s talking about…not the regular street gangs, but the Democrats and Republicans. He sounds like someone on a rant, but like someone who knows what he’s talking about. His most recent book, is called “Democrips and Rebloodicans: No More Gangs in Government.” I haven’t read it, (although I want to now) but from the article on Ventura, I understand that it’s about the mess that is our country’s political system. In Ventura’s words: “We’ve got an entire political system based on bribery. It’s obscene.” Ventura’s not pro any party, but says both Democrats and Republicans are parties more dangerous than street gangs. Voting polls should leave out party names, he says, so people actually learn what the respective sides stand for and also points out that candidates should dress like NASCAR drivers so we can “see who their sponsors really are.” Sad but true.
The Democrats and Republicans are worse than gangs, he says, because what they do affects our lives; as opposed to the affects a street gang has on our everyday lives, generally none. In his book, he also discusses the financial crisis; how the rest of America lost money and incomes declined while the “1 percent” “saw their net worth rise.” That should infuriate anyone, it does me.
He’s not pulling this stuff out of the air. The article points out the 2012 Wealth Report released by Citi Private Bank and Knight Frank. Just as Ventura said, the report confirms that those 1 percenters around the world, with high net worth, saw it rise while for the rest of us, net worth went down.
Ventura also points out that most of the country is coming to the realization that there is something seriously wrong with our political system and that much of it is “rigged” and “bought and paid for” by the wealthy political SuperPACS, he calls them; Non-profits who donate to politicians.
Lastly, I’m just going to leave you with a quote by Ventura, from the article, since it’s so well put and hopefully you will want to learn/read more (follow the link below); I’m sure you can’t read this without forming an opinion yourself. The quote has more to it than what I’ve posted below but you can read the rest from the link.
“What we’ve got today is a gang of super-rich Democrips fighting another gang of super rich Rebloodicans. Would you still call this a democracy? Shouldn’t we come right out and admit we’re a plutocracy? And shouldn’t we call out the two gangs for showing their colors once and for all. And those colors aren’t the blue and the red of the Crips and the Bloods, but rather the green of all our money they are stealing.”
